We warmly welcome John Scivier who is taking over from Georgie as the new Chair of the association, who says:

“I am delighted to accept the offer to Chair your wonderful and much respected association. I suspect there may be some surprise amongst you that your committee has chosen a man to head up an association whose members are predominantly female, and also someone (for the first time) that is not a widow/widower. I would like to put your minds at ease from the get-go though and tell you all that I am committed to you all and the ethos and aims of the association. Having served for 38 years in the Royal Navy (leaving in 2014), I have an understanding of the effects of military bereavement and whilst not having gone through this difficult experience myself, know many widows and widowers that have, so please be assured that I will represent you all, work with you all and most importantly, listen to you all.”
